Uploads

Why will my file not upload?

AudioTale accepts MP3 and M4A audio files up to 100 MB and six hours long. Check that the filename ends in .mp3 or .m4a and that the recording plays normally on your device.

What should I do with a file over 100 MB or six hours?

Split it into shorter recordings or export a compressed MP3 or M4A copy. Do not simply rename another file type, as that does not convert the underlying audio.

Why does AudioTale say it cannot read my audio?

The file may be damaged, incomplete or encoded in an unsupported format despite its filename. Try playing the whole recording locally, then export a fresh MP3 or M4A copy.

Can I close the page while it is processing?

Keep the page open until your notes are ready. Closing it, losing connection or allowing the device to sleep can interrupt browser-based preparation and upload.

02

Accuracy and results

Is every transcript completely accurate?

No transcription service is error-free. Accuracy varies with microphone quality, accents, specialist language, background noise and people speaking over one another. Summary context helps the notes use names and specialist terms correctly, but proper nouns in the transcript should still be checked.

Should I rely on the notes without checking them?

Review important names, figures, quotations, decisions and deadlines against the recording. AudioTale is a productivity tool, not a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial or compliance review.

Why are speaker labels sometimes imperfect?

Similar voices, interruptions and poor audio can make speakers difficult to distinguish. Speaker labels are generated automatically and should be checked before publication or formal use.

03

Privacy and permission

Do I need permission to upload a recording?

You are responsible for having the right to record, upload and transcribe the conversation. Requirements vary by location and situation. Tell participants where appropriate, respect confidentiality and obtain any permission your organisation or applicable law requires.

What happens to my audio?

Audio is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection and processed to produce your result. AudioTale does not provide an audio library or retain recordings as a media archive, and your content is not used to train the transcription models.

Can I upload sensitive information?

Only upload information you are authorised to process. Avoid unnecessary personal or confidential information, and follow your employer’s security, retention and data-protection policies.

04

Payments and credit

How is credit calculated?

Recordings are charged by whole started minute. A recording lasting 20 minutes and 10 seconds uses 21 minutes. Your available balance is shown before processing starts.

Does credit expire?

No. Purchased minutes remain attached to your email account until you use them. Sign in with the same email address on another device to see the same balance.

What if a payment completes but my minutes do not appear?

Refresh the page and sign in again with the email address used at checkout. Keep the payment reference from your receipt. Do not make the same purchase again until the first payment has been checked.

What if processing fails after it starts?

Do not repeatedly submit the same recording. Keep the exact error message, filename and approximate duration so the failed attempt can be investigated using the support details on your payment receipt.
