Who provides AudioTale
AudioTale is operated by Scott Banks, a sole trader trading as AudioTale in the United Kingdom. Contact hello@audiotale.app or write to 32 Greenmount Road, Darlington, DL3 8EP, United Kingdom.
The service
AudioTale converts supported audio recordings into automated transcripts, summaries, key points, decisions and action items. Features and supported formats may change as the service develops.
Accounts and minutes
- Your email address identifies your AudioTale account.
- Keep access to that email secure and do not share sign-in codes.
- Purchased minutes remain on your account until used and do not expire.
- Each recording is charged in whole minutes, rounded up from its duration.
- Minutes automatically returned after a recognised processing failure remain available to use again.
Payments, cancellation and refunds
Prices are shown before checkout. Stripe processes payment and may display a supported local currency. AudioTale does not receive your full card number.
Unused packs
Ask within 14 days of purchase for a refund of a completely unused minute pack.
Minutes already used
Once any part of a pack has been used, there is no automatic change-of-mind refund for that pack.
Faults and missing credit
Contact us if paid minutes are missing or the service fails. We will investigate and provide the remedy required by law.
How refunds are paid
Approved refunds go to the original payment method. Bank processing times may vary.
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under UK consumer law, including rights where a digital service is not provided with reasonable care and skill.
Your recordings and permission
You keep ownership of material you upload. You give AudioTale and its service providers the limited permission needed to process it and return your results.
You must have every permission, consent or other lawful basis required to record, upload and transcribe the people involved. Do not upload material that infringes another person's privacy, confidentiality, copyright or other rights.
Accuracy and appropriate use
Transcripts and summaries are generated automatically and may contain mistakes. Recording quality, accents, specialist language, background noise and overlapping speech can affect the result. Check names, figures, quotations, decisions and deadlines against the original recording.
AudioTale is a productivity tool. It is not legal, medical, financial, safeguarding or compliance advice, and its output should not be the sole basis for a high-impact decision.
Acceptable use
You must not use AudioTale to:
- break the law or another person's rights;
- upload malware, harmful code or deliberately corrupted files;
- probe, overload, bypass or interfere with service security;
- access another person's account or credit;
- automate abusive account creation, purchases or transcription requests.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep AudioTale available, but maintenance, provider outages, security work or unexpected faults can interrupt it. We may change or withdraw features where reasonably necessary. Purchased unused minutes will not be removed simply because a feature changes.
Responsibility
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of breaching these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses caused by information you supplied, unlawful use, or reliance on an unchecked automated transcript or summary.
Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that cannot legally be excluded, including responsibility for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Ending or restricting access
You can stop using AudioTale at any time. We may restrict or close access where reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse, a security risk or a serious breach of these terms. Contact us to request account deletion or discuss unused paid credit.
General terms
If part of these terms is unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply. A delay in enforcing a right does not waive it. We may update these terms and will publish the revised date. Material changes will apply prospectively.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer elsewhere in the UK, you retain any rights to use your local courts and any mandatory protections that apply to you.
